- Amendment 2 to correct accreditation body. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, in conjunction with FAR 13.5, as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is 11-223-SOL-00109 and is issued as an request for proposal (RFP), unless otherwise indicated herein. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-52. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 611430 with a small business size standard of $7.00M. This requirement is a [ Small Business ] set-aside and only qualified offerors may submit proposals. The solicitation will start on the date this solicitation is posted and will end on 2011-08-10 16:00:00.0 Eastern Time. Prospective offerors are responsible for downloading the solicitation and any amendments. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the FedBizOpps website for the release of any amendments to this solicitation. Hard copies will only be provided to individuals eligible under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Rehabilitation Act upon request. The Government reserves the right to award a contract without discussions if the Contracting Officer determines that the initial offer(s) is/are providing the Best Value and discussions are not necessary. OCOMM/DPA intends to develop a Web-based education course with accreditation that will require development and maintenance of a database, along with all reporting requirements of the accrediting organizations. This project will educate a national audience of healthcare providers about misleading prescription drug promotion. The project will also serve to educate the nation's health care providers on how to report misleading prescription drug promotion. This will be accomplished through the use of an accredited Continuing Medical Education (CME)/ Continuing Education (CE) program that will be planned, developed, produced, delivered, and maintained by the selected entity and will allow health care practitioners (physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists) throughout the United States to access this online course from the convenience of their offices and homes.
