- Description
- Request for Information. Item/Services Description: Non-Personal Service: The contractor shall provide all management, sampling, tools, supplies, chemicals, repair parts, equipment, incidentals, and transportation necessary to operate, maintain, monitor and repair one reverse osmosis/nano filtration water treatment plant, one wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and 9 liftstations at Lajes Field, Azores. The water treatment plant (T-871) is a 4000 sq.ft. facility, which processes and treats approximately 200 million gallons of water per year. The contractor shall operate and maintain the plant and system to provide the Base with potable water in sufficient quality, quantity, and pressure. The contractor shall maintain the wastewater treatment system and lift stations in an operational condition at all times. The system includes the treatment plant pumps and lift stations. Wastewater treatment operations shall be conducted in order to provide continuous, cost effective, and efficient treatment of all wastewater. The system shall operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Water Treatment Plant Lead Operator Certification: At least one Class B or higher certified operator shall perform the duty as the lead operator. The lead operator shall be on duty and on site within the confines of the water system at least 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Waste Water Treatment Lead Operator Certification: At least one Class A, Level III or higher certified operator shall perform the duty as the lead operator. 52.215-3, Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (OCT 1997) (a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and Proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. (b) Although "proposal" and "offeror" are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It SHALL NOT be used as a proposal. (c) This solicitation is issued for the purpose of determining which is the best commercial practice available to meet our requirement.
