This Industry Outreach Forum is sponsored by the Federal Data Center Consolidation Task Force, Office of Management and Budget, and the Federal Cloud Computing PMO in the Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies, General Services Administration (GSA). The half day Forum will be held for industry and agencies to discuss specific, high priority challenges that agencies are facing in consolidating and closing data centers. Two panels of agency representatives will outline key challenges agencies need to address. After each panel presentation, agency representatives will answer questions posed by industry and agency attendees. Panel One 1. Preparing receiving data centers for consolidation 2. Leveraging cloud services 3. Migration planning and execution Panel Two 4. Tools for tracking and managing inventory 5. Tools for mapping applications 6. Energy efficiency assessment and measurement Attendees will be invited to submit short (5 pages maximum) white papers within 30 days of the Forum that address one or more of the topics discussed. White papers must contain a case study from a completed (or mostly completed) federal, state, local or Fortune 500 company implementation that addresses one of the challenges presented at the Forum. The case study should describe the vendor's best practices and lessons learned, address success measures, and provide a POC for any agency requesting additional information. White papers will be distributed to Federal CIOs and Federal Data Center Consolidation Task Force members through a secure repository. Access to this repository will be limited to Federal CIOs and their staff. The Industry Outreach Forum will provide further detail on topics and issues to be addressed by the white paper.
