The radar has a Ground Moving Target Indicator/Synthetic Aperture Radar (GMTI/SAR) capability for the detection of vehicles and dismounts. A Tactical Common Data Link (TCDL) is used to transmit VADER data to the current exploitation ground station. The exploitation ground station contains the remote radar control, mission planning, and exploitation equipment. In response to the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), the VADER system is in theatre being tested and evaluated. VADER is integrated on Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems, Electronic Sensors System (NGES ESS) Contractor Furnished Equipment (CFE) piloted aircraft and is being supported and maintained by NGES ESS.
