- This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought notice for the Department of Veterans Affairs VISN 7 Network Contracting Activity. The following information is provided to assist the Department of Veteran Affairs VA Medical Center Augusta, GA in conducting Market Research of Industry to identify potential Service Disabled Veterans Owned Small Business contractors to provide MEDLINK 3000 at the Augusta VAMC.. The applicable NAICS code is 517110 and size standard 1,500 employees. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) provision 52.211.6 Brand Name or Equal applies to this acquisition. Vendors shall comply with FAR provision 52.211-6 if submitting other than the brand name products. The Government does not intend to make an award on the basis of this Sources Sought notice or otherwise pay for the information solicited herein. This notice is for the purpose of identifying potential sources and does not commit the government to make an award and/or issue a solicitation. Interested and qualified firms should submit pertinent information on their capabilities to provide the above mentioned services, including company name, address, telephone number, contact point and DUNS number of your firm. Email: iridious.ruise@va.gov PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT: SCIU Nurse Call System SCOPE OF WORK: Vendor shall provide all factory certified technical labor, technical supervision, test equipment and required specialized equipment to provide and install a fully code compliant turn-key Nurse Call System in the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center Spinal Cord Injury Unit. The system must be Medlink 3000 in order to be compatible with the Nurse Call System throughout the remaining section of the Medical Center. In addition the system shall be fully compatible as to enable full tech support through authorize manufacture support company. Justification: The existing system has been recommended for replacement by PVA, because existing components do not work with special devices which are required for SCI patients to summon assistance. REPORTING: Vendor shall report to Bruce Coogler, Electric Shop Supervisor at extension 1755, Building 801, Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. HOUR OF WORK: Work shall be accomplished in a manner as not to interfere with patient care and in some cases will require pre-scheduling with the unit nurse manager. Hours of work will be 8:00am - 5:00pm with some work taking place 5:00pm - 9:00pm and when required weekends. PERFORMANCE: Vendor shall provide all Medlink 3000 factory certified technical labor and supervision to provide and install a full code compliant Nurse Call System in the Spinal Cord Injury Unit, Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, Building 801. The system shall be fully compatible with the Nurse Call System (Medlink 3000) presently operating in the remaining sections of the Medical Center. All work shall be in full compliance with established infection control requirements. Technicians shall have experience in working in a patient care environment. Work shall fully comply with NFPA 70, NFPA 99, NFPA 101 and Joint Commission standards. All penetrations shall be sealed with approved fire stop material. It is imperative that Nurse Call Service is maintained functional throughout the project as to ensure no interruption to patient ability to summon assistance. In instances where an interruption can't be avoided, work will not take place until scheduling is established with the Nurse Manager. Vendor will ensure no part of the system is inoperable for any extended time especially overnight. Once work is started the vendor will continue working until full service is restored. Vendor will provide the COTR or designee an update system status report in writing or electronically at the conclusion of each work day. The report will show progress made and problems encountered to include corrective actions taken. No work will take place in an occupied patient room. Work areas will be kept neat and clean by the vendor throughout the project. Vendor will provide technical training to engineering staff to include providing technical manuals. Vendor will provide user training for Nurse Staff to ensure staff can fully utilize all user required functions.
