- The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Station Support/Simplified Acquisition (SS/SA) Branch, on behalf of the National Institute of Aging (NIA) intends to negotiate and award on a non-competitive basis purchase order to Illumina, Inc, 9885 Towne Centre Drive, San Diego, CA, 92121-1975 for the purchase of Eight (8) MouseRef-8 v2.0 Expression BeadChip Kits. NIA uses the MouseRef-8 v2.0 Expression BeadChip Kits for mouse microarrays for gene expression analysis experiments. These kits are proprietary to Illumina and no other manufacturer provides these kits that are run along with our Illumina equipment. NIA scanner will only read Illumina arrays due to the increase in resolution necessary to capture the image data. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR Part 12 procedures and exempt from the requirement of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
