- Solicitation Number: W91ZLK-11-T-0300 Notice Type: Special Notice Synopsis: This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. This will be an acquisition under the authority of the test program for commercial items section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996. The US Army Contracting Command (ACC), Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division (AICD), 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen, MD 21005 has a requirement to procure MATLAB Software from THE MATHWORKS, INC., in support of Army Materiel Systems Analysis Activity, located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland 21005. CLIN 0001 Renewal of MATLAB Software from The MathWorks INC. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price sole source purchase order to The MathWorks INC. located at 3 Apple Hill Drive, Natick, MA. MATLAB software is used to produce a numerical computing g environment and fourth-generation programming language. Developed by MathWorks, MATLAB and associated software allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs written in other software languages, including C, C++, and FORTRAN. Renewal of support for MathWorks software licenses pre-existing on AMSAA servers utilized on a daily basis to help support the analysis of AMSAA's engineers in equipping and sustaining weapons and material for the solider in the field. The associated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 511210 and the Business Size Standard is $18 Million. All responses received within five (5) days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 4:00 PM EST, August 17th 2011. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
