Description

THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Sioux Falls VA Health Care System intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract for the completion of general construction project 438-11-144, "Asbestos Abatement", at the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System (VAHCS), Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in accordance with the drawings and specifications. The contractor will be required to provide all necessary tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary do an inspection of all proposed project areas. Contractor will then submit a detailed report on and a quote for abatement of all the asbestos containing materials (ACM) and believed asbestos containing materials (BACM). The Contractor is required to furnish all labor, materials, services, equipment, insurance, and perform all work to remove and dispose of all ACM and all BACM. Contractor will be responsible for the cleanup and removal of all asbestos contaminated gypsum board, insulation, carpeting, floor tiles and other debris created as the work progresses and installation of new, white 15/16" ceiling grid and Armstrong, Cortega, Angled Tegular (704A) 24"x24"X5/8" acoustical ceiling tiles, in all rooms where removal of suspended ceiling occurred as part of the project, all to meet the satisfaction of the VA Medical Center. Work is to be completed within 60 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All respondents must be registered in the CCR database (http://www.ccr.gov) and complete online Representations and Certifications at (http://orca.bpn.gov), along with Vets 100 at (http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/). Bidders must be registered in VetBiz at (http://www.vetbiz.gov/). Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and/or to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to (felecia.beamen2@va.gov). Issue Date is tentatively scheduled for August, 29, 2011. The Pre-bid meeting/Site-visit will be announced upon Solicitation issuance. Bid Opening Date is tentatively scheduled for September 28, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. (local time), at Department of Veteran Affairs, Contracting 90C, 2501 W 22nd Street, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, but exact date may vary depending on issuance of the solicitation. The applicable NAICS Code is 562910, with the applicable size standard being $14.0 million. Cost range is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00.
