Description

THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Health Care System (VAHCS) Iowa intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary for completion of general construction project 636A8-11-013, "Renovate restrooms for ADA & Female Privacy", at the Iowa City VAHCS, Iowa City, Iowa, in accordance with the drawings and specifications. This project will add ADA compliant restrooms on the third floor at the Iowa City VAHCS. It will also demo fixtures from existing restrooms and convert one to an office and expand a housekeeping closet. Work includes demolition, asbestos abatement, and alterations to walls, ceilings, roofs and floors, general construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing work, controls, telecom and certain other items. Work will require at least 2 phases to complete. Work is to be completed 120 days from notice to proceed. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All respondents must be registered in the CCR database (http://www.ccr.gov) and complete online Representations and Certifications at (http://orca.bpn.gov), along with Vets 100 at (http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/). Bidders must be registered in VetBiz at (http://www.vetbiz.gov/). Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and/or to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to (felecia.beamen@va.gov). Issue Date is tentatively scheduled for August 26, 2011. The Pre-bid meeting/Site-visit will be announced upon Solicitation issuance. Bid Opening Date is tentatively scheduled for September 25, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. (local time), in Bldg. #21, Room #1B03f at the Iowa City VAHCS, Iowa City, IA, but exact date may vary depending on issuance of the solicitation. The applicable NAICS Code is 236220, with the applicable size standard being $33.5 million. Cost range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00.
