Description
The COAC Services Branch, Office of Acquisitions, DERA, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), NIH, for the Center for Human Immunology intends to procure Affymetrix brand name items listed below: This requirement is under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334516 Analytical laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, Size Standard is 500 employees. The Small Business Set-Asides does not apply for this requirement. Solicitation Notice No.: NHLBI-CSB-(HL)-2011-282-DDC Title: 66: Instruments and laboratory equipment The Center for Human Immunology, part of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, is involved in the study of characterizing normal and pathogenic human immunome. As part of these studies, the Government requires broad spectrum of high throughput molecular analysis from which gene expression analysis is exclusively applied to every study CHI conducted. Gene expression using Affymetrix Human Genechip 1.0 ST array requires matched instrument for sample processing, hybridization, labeling and chip scan. The Genetitan system will assist in the continuation of research in study human immunome at whole transcriptome level. Requirements for Genetitan System: • A hands-free, automated gene expression and genome-wide SNP genotyping instrument. • It merged three parts into one: o Hybridization Oven: automated plate handling with temperature control and automated hybridization of prepared DNA or RNA to array plates. o Fluidics: automated plate handling and fluidics to perform wash and stain of array plates. o Scanner: automated scanning with high-resolution image at rate of less than 5 minutes per array and 2um scan resolution. • The instrument is capable of processing two array plates per day and each plate contains 96 samples. • The instrument is capable of processing any Affymetrix platform especially Human Genechip 1.0 ST array. • Adjustable sample numbers from 16-96/plate • The instrument provides control software which enables convenient sample registration using AGCC v3.1.1. An external barcode reader will provide the ability to enter barcodes and track sample information. • It also provides software Command Console, Expression Console® and Genotyping Console® to scalable data management options for projects with a convenient file-based format for data storage. • The software easily integrates with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) to increase laboratory efficiency and productivity. The brand name determination is based on the Government's requirement of a specialized all-in-one machine combining an array scanner, hybridization over, and fluid station. This system will allow the Government to undertake a major new effort to characterize human immune responses using multiple novel high throughput technologies. GeneTitan TM Instrument is a bench-top instrument that automates array processing from target hybridization to data generation. By combining a hybridization oven, fluidics processing, and state-of-the art imaging device, the GeneTitan Instrument manages all processing and plate transfers to provide a fully hands-free workflow and markedly improved efficiency. It maximizes data reproducibility and laboratory productivity by minimizing user intervention. This acquisition is being conducted using simplified acquisition procedures. Interested vendors capable of furnishing the government with the product in this announcement should submit a quotation to the below address. The quotation shall include the itemized price, commercial price list, prompt payment terms, F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin) Shipping cost, if applicable, descriptive literature of the product quoted, installation of the system, business size, Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNs), and ORCA be must current. The Offeror must also register in the Government's Registry System: www.ccr.gov. The quotation is due five (5) calendar days from the publication date of this synopsis, or August 14th 2011, by 7:30 a.m. eastern time, whichever is later. The proposal must reference "Solicitation number" NHLBI-CSB-(HL)-2011-282-DDC. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which if timely received shall be considered by the agency. Proposals must be submitted in writing to the COAC Services Branch, Office of Acquisitions, DERA NHLBI, 6701 Rockledge Blvd., Room 6042, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-7902, Attention Deborah Coulter. Response may be submitted electronically to coulterd@nhlbi.nih.gov, fax are not accepted. Responses will only be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative.
