Description

Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM), Washington, DC is issuing this Sources Sought to identify potential small, bondable, and experienced businesses such as: (1) Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), (2) Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), (3) 8(a) contractors, (4) HUBZone Small Businesses, (5) Woman Owned Small Businesses (WOSB), (6) and/or Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB) that are capable of meeting this construction requirement. The construction need is relative to Project No. 919CM2007 entitled Tahoma National Cemetery Phase 2 Gravesite Development, located in Kent, Washington. This project will provide approximately 9,083 pre-placed concrete crypts, 301 traditional gravesites, 15,075 niche columbarium, 4,186 in-ground cremains and 728 memorial markers. The project will develop approximately 15 acres to include access roads; committal shelters; memorial walls; infrastructure repairs; new roads and parking. In addition, landscaping and sustainable irrigations systems will be installed and 5 acres of unused burial sections with the existing cemetery will be converted to use of pre-placed crypts. The estimated cost range for this project is between $20,000,000 and $50,000,000. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 237990 and the small business size standard is $33.5 Million. The award of a firm fixed-price construction contract is anticipated. Interested bondable small businesses having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this sources sought announcement. In order to be considered, you must include the following information: (1) Company name, address, point of contact with phone number and e-mail address; (2) Business size determination and qualifying small business status; (3) Bonding capacity (from surety); and (4) Construction experience of similar projects in size, scope and dollar amount (minimum 3). You are required to e-Mail your responses to the Contracting Officer (Greg Sabater) at Gregory.Sabater@va.gov no later than 4:00PM EST on August 23, 2011. Within the subject line of your e-Mail, state Tahoma National Cemetery with your Company Name. Please note that this is not a request for proposal (RFP) and the government is only seeking information for market research purposes only. The government may or may not issue solicitation documents. Look for any further information at www.fbo.gov about this possible procurement.
