Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Syracuse, NY intends to purchase eight (8) Maquet Servo I Ventilators (Brand Name or Equal). The device has Automode-this mode allows us to transition our ventilated patients to a weaning mode while ensuring adequate ventilatory support. This mode also enhances synchrony. NAVA- NAVA (Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist) allows for increased synchrony as well as on-board diaphragmatic EMG monitoring to assist in evaluating dyssynchrony, work of breathing and overall diaphragmatice function. The Servo I has a unique combination of functionality while having the least amount of maintenance when it comes to reprocessing. The Servo I requires no special disposable equipment (circuits, filters or flow sensors) and has a very simple SOP for reprocessing. The VA system in gereneral is evaluating reprocessing of Reusable Medical Equipment (RME) and this simplicity falls in line with the Respiratory Care Department's mission of reducing the complexity of our RME reprocessing. The Respiratory Therapist's (RT's), Nursing and Clinical Provider staff has already been inserviced on the use of this platform as this is the planned platform for our fleet standardization project. Fleet standardization helps to reduce errors in use and reprocessing as a department can reduce the amount of SOPs and competencies for the staff. Fleet standardization is essential as well on developing protocols and pathways with a certain level of consistency. The VA requires the contractor to be an approved distributor with the ability to provide training for RT staff and provide on-going service and maintenance while under warranty as well as training Biomedical engineering for routine use and maintenance in operational software to the latest version and upgrades. The government is seeking qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business or other small business categories to determine if a competitive set-aside exists for this opportunity. All response to this sources sought shall be considered to determine if a set aside is appropriate for this procurement and will be considered by the Government. All response received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive small business set aside procurement. Submissions received in response to this notice shall be evaluated based on the technical ability and demonstrated past experience to meet the requirement. All those interested should submit, in writing, the company name, address, point of contact, telephone number, and business size; set aside category; a detailed statement regarding technical capabilities and qualifications, and any additional supporting literature. Vendor must provide a DUNS number (http://www.dnb.com/us/) and register with the Central Contractors Registration (Http://www.ccr.gov/) to further qualify for this contract. All interested parties shall respond to Denise.Edmonds@va.gov by 1:00 PM EST August 19, 2011.
