- Description
- RFQ FOR THE BENCH TOP FLOW CYTOMETER. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial supply item prepared in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 as supplemented with additional information included in this announcement. The U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC), National Oceanic Atmospheric and Administration (NOAA), Eastern Region Acquisition Division (ERAD-KC), and the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) intend to solicit for purchase of 1 each, Bench Top FlowCAM VS IV, 1) Multiple magnification objective allowing the analysis of particles ranging from 3µm to 2mm in diameter; 2) Ability to detect fluorescence of chlorophyll and phycoerythrin; 3) Imaging of particles triggered by fluorescence or scattered light particles passing in a continuous flow; and 4) Hardware and software which can rapidly acquire digital images, counts, and measurements(i.e. width, depth, volume, shape, color, fluorescence) of particles, and identify cells. The FlowCAM® is the only instrument that meets all four of GLERL's requirements as listed above. GLERL plans to use the bench-top FlowCAM® to measure abundance and characteristics of phytoplankton, microzooplankton, and other particles (e.g., detritus) in natural lake water and in laboratory cultures and experiments to measure changes in these particles induced by various factors. NAICS code for this action is 334513. The Eastern Region Acquisition Division-Kansas City requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following website: http://www.ccr.gov/. In order to register with the CCR and to be eligible to receive an award from this acquisition office, all offerors must have a Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUN). A DUN number may be acquired free of charge by contacting Dun & Bradstreet on-line at https://www.dnb.com/product/eupdate/requestOptions.html or by phone at (800) 333-0505. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) and specifications are attached to this notice. All interested parties are required to sign, date and provide a Dun & Bradstreet number before submitting their quote to the U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA/ERAD, ATTN: Karen Christian, Room 1756, 601 East 12th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64106. Quotes must be received on or before the date and time referenced on the RFQ. Quotes may be sent by either email to karen.l.christian@noaa.gov or faxed to 816-274-6952. Specific Requirements: 1) Multiple magnification objective allowing the analysis of particles ranging from 3µm to 2mm in diameter; 2) Ability to detect fluorescence of chlorophyll and phycoerythrin; 3) Imaging of particles triggered by fluorescence or scattered light particles passing in a continuous flow; and 4) Hardware and software which can rapidly acquire digital images, counts, and measurements (i.e. width, depth, volume, shape, color, fluorescence) of particles, and identify cells. There are other manufacturers that have the capabilities to provide a bench-top cytometer, but they do not meet GLERL's requirements.
