- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. Amistad National Recreation Area annnouces its intent to purchase a brand name product 001-055-01 DVM500 Plus Digital Video Mirror Kit and 004-0064 Radar Interface Cable, Gensis II/MPH. Amistad National Recreation Area intends to purchase nine Digital Allly, Inc., digital in-car video/audio recording systems for use in law enforcement vehicles. The systems required are permanent-mount, digital memory recording (as opposed to direct DVD recording), and must be as small as possible due to limited mounting space in vehicles. Equipment must match exisitng systems to maintain continuity in law enforcement vehicles. Justification for procurement of Brand Name Product is available upon request @ marsha_wagner@nps.gov. Authorities allowing brand name product procurement are: (a) 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1): Only one responsible source and no other supplies or service will satisfy agency requirements. (b) FAR Part 11.105: The Brand Name products are essential to the Government's requirements, and market research indicates other companies' similar products do not meet and cannot be modified to meet the agency's needs. (c) FAR 6.302-1: The use of the name brand products are essential to the Government's requirements, thereby precluding consideration of a product manufactured by another company. Comments in regards to the name brand required shall be emailed or faxed to marsha_wagner@nps.gov no later than August 19, 2011.
