Description
Medina Base WSA LINE ITEM 0001 and 0002: The following questions are hereby posted for your review and submittal. Question 1: Are the canopies required to be waterproof? As we discussed true waterproofing will require a change in the statement of work because the material specified will allow water to penetrate. Answer 1: The SOW that was submitted called for waterproof fabric canopies (see attachment, SOW item 3.c.). Question 2: What type of material would you like to put under the shade canopy? Concrete, asphalt, rocks, etc? If you did decide on a loose material like rocks would a small concrete curb be acceptable? Answer 2: The project was based on a crushed rock base not concrete pad. No concrete curb border is needed. Question 3: Please clarify if these structures are to be waterproof or for shade purposes only. There is a significant difference between the two. Answer 3: The SOW that was submitted called for waterproof fabric canopies (see attachment, SOW item 3.c.). Question 4: Does the base required these structures to be engineered? Answer 4: No the Government did not stipulate that in the SOW. Question 5: Is there a geotech report for this location available? Answer 5: No the Government does not have one. Question 6: Should the foundation be asphalt or concrete? Answer 6: The project was based on a crushed rock base not concrete pad. No concrete curb border is needed. Question 7: These structure are on a slope, does the user want a level foundation and canopy or do you want it to follow the topography? Answer 7: The foundation and canopy should be level. Question 8: Concerning drawings, are architectural and structurals required, or just structurals. Answer 8: Structural will suffice. Note: at this time, the 802 CONS/LGCA is not receiving any more question. Thank you for your interest on this project.
