- Title: REPLACE LOADING DOCK BLDG 04 AND DEMOLISH LOADING DOCK BLDG 101, NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY MECHANICSBURG PA. Scope of Work: REPLACE LOADING DOCK BLDG 04: Remove and replace existing concrete loading dock slab and retaining wall along west side of Building 04, Naval Support Activity, Mechanicsburg, PA. Also, remove and replace existing bituminous pavements adjacent to dock walls as shown on Plan. Dowel new concrete dock slab into the existing concrete slab/cmu wall. Provide smooth transition between new concrete dock slab and existing concrete floor at all overhead and personnel doors. DEMOLISH LOADING DOCK BLDG 101: Remove entire existing concrete/bituminous loading dock slab, retaining walls (footing to remain), 31 wood columns and modify overhead canopy along east side of Building 101 at Naval Support Activity, Mechanicsburg, PA. Remove any transite (asbestos board) in between roof rafters, if present. Remove entire ramps, retaining walls and backfill along north and south sides of Building 101. Provide new concrete steps with handrails at four specified personnel doors after removal of the concrete loading dock. Remove existing fire hydrant at one specified location and modify existing inlet/manhole at three specified locations. Estimated Price Range: Between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00 Number of Days in Contract: 270 Days Number of Bid Items: One (1) NAICS CODE: 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction $ 33.5 Million. The solicitation (specification) will be limited to the electronic medium. The specifications and drawings WILL NOT be directly provided in a paper hard copy format or by CD-ROM. The address for downloading this solicitation from the internet is https://neco.navy.mil All prospective bidders are encouraged to register on the above web site for this procurement when specifications and drawings become available (in about two weeks from the date of this pre-solicitation announcement - on or about 20 August 2011). Registration and downloading from the Internet is free of charge; however, some specifications may take a considerable amount of time to download. Notification of any changes to this solicitation (i.e. amendments) shall be made only on the web site. It is therefore the bidder ™s responsibility to check the web site daily for any posted changes to the solicitation. Bid results will be posted on the web site and will not be released by phone. In addition, prospective contractors must register in the Department of Defense (DOD) Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database prior to award. Information regarding the CCR may be obtained by accessing the website at http://www.ccr.gov and by referring to DFARS Subpart 204.703. Bidders are notified that failure to register in the CCR makes a firm ineligible for award of DOD contracts.
