Description
STATEMENT OF WORK REPLACE SPRINKLER HEADS @ BUILDING 219 1. SCOPE: The work covered by this statement of work consists in furnishing all plant, labor, equipment, appliances and materials and performing all operations in connection with replacing water sprinkler heads at building 219. All work will be in strict accordance with the contract and applicable Fire and Plumbing Codes. 2. REMOVE AND INSTALL NEW: Potential contractors are encouraged to perform a site visit prior to bidding on contract. The contractor will drain fire suppression system prior to performing work and then recharge when complete. Contractor will purchase and install the following materials: • Remove 300 old sprinkler heads and replace with new Standard-response 5 mm bulb heads. • Remove 300 old escutcheons and replace with new and ensure all are secured properly and mounted correctly to the ceiling tile and 1" service drop pipe. The 1" pipe reduces down to ½" at the sprinkler head • Adjust the height to the 1" service drop as needed so that heads and escutcheons can be mounted correctly at the suspended ceiling. • Replace broken ceiling tile as required. 3. TESTS: After the installation is complete and at such time as the Contracting Officer may direct, the contractor shall conduct an operation test for approval to ensure there are no leaks and the heads are installed correctly and within applicable Fire and Plumbing Codes. The test shall be performed in the presence of the base plumber. The contractor shall furnish all instruments and personnel required for the test. 4. SUBMITTALS: The contractor shall provide submittals for any additional work that may need repair. 5. WARRANTY: The contractor shall provide a 1-year warranty on all work and material.
