Description

DESCRIPTION: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 6.302-1(a), with MicroSense LLC, of LOWELL, MA, for Service High Voltage Distributor and Water Cooling Connections for ADE Vibrating Sample Magnetometer with Rotating Electromagnet currently being used by the Material Measurement Laboratory Division at NIST, Gaithersburg, Maryland. *****The Sole Source determination is based on MicroSense being the original equipment manufacturer of the ADE Vibrating Sample Magnetometer with Rotating Electromagnet. MicroSense is capable of providing safely the electrical and water connections for supplying power and cooling water to the rotating electromagnet regardless of angle, in accordance with the original equipment specifications. MicroSense is the only authorized vendor capable in providing the required maintenance service. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811219, and the size standard is $19M. *****NO solicitation package will be issued. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Inquires will only be accepted via email to james.cariaga@nist.gov. The government will consider responses received by12:00 p.m., EST, 8/10/2011. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition base on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. In the absence of responses NIST proposes to negotiate with MicroSense on a sole source basis. No telephone requests will be honored.
