- Provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and supervision to renovate seven 2-bed bedrooms on Ward 3Eto fourteen 1-bed bedrooms at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 50 Irving Street, N.W, Washington DC 20422 in accordance with the drawings and specifications. Work includes, but is not limited to, architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, etc. This is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) Set-aside procurement. Estimated construction cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The firm must be a General Construction firm approved under NAICS: 236220, size standard: $33.5 million. The bidder shall obtain any and all necessary licenses or permits required to perform this work in Washington, District of Columbia. Only SDVOSB firms currently certified in the Veterans Information Pages (VIP) at www.vetbiz.gov or SDVOSB firms pending verification in VIP are eligible to submit bids. SDVOSB Firms that submit bids on SDVOSB set-asides that are not listed on VIP will be deemed nonresponsive. Prospective contractors must be registered at http://www.ccr.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov to be eligible for award. A Joint Venture Agreement (JV Agreement) must be completed at the time of bid opening and conform to JV requirements. JV Agreements should be submitted with the bid. There will be one pre-bid site visit which will be held on August 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the BH 132 Conference Room, VAMC, Washington, D.C. 20422. All interested parties are encouraged to attend. All questions generated from the site visit shall be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer (email address: Gracie.davis@va.gov). The deadline for questions pertaining to the solicitation is August 11, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. Prospective contractors can obtain solicitation documents, which are only available in.pdf electronic format, by registering and downloading plans and specifications from FedBizOpps website www.fbo.gov. Bid opening date is September 7, 2011 at 1 p.m. EST. A public bid opening will be at the VA Medical Center, BH 132 Conference Room, 50 Irving Street, N.W, Washington, DC 20422. The procurement is subject to availability of funds.
