- Sources Sought Notice only. This is not a request for quotes or proposals. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Seeking Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), or other small businesses capable of providing biomedical waste collection and disposal services to include reusable sharp container program for the [1] VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System, Biloxi, MS, [2] VA Joint Ambulatory Care Center (JACC), Pensacola, FL, [3] Panama City Community Based Clinic, Panama City, FL, and [4] Eglin OPC, Eglin, FL. Based upon the response(s) to this notice and identified contractor(s), future solicitation may be separate for these locations or they may be combined. The contractor shall furnish all their own labor, equipment, vehicles, containers and materials incidental to the collection and disposal of bio-hazardous medical waste from the schedule and designated pickup points. The contractor shall also provide for a reusable sharps container program which is a new requirement, to include installation of the holders. The contractor shall maintain and repair the larger disposal waste containers as needed. The contractor must possess all licenses and permits required to provide the services in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. The contractor shall provide the VA with manifests for all biomedical waste removed from the site and a tracking method. Contractor should be prepared to bill by weight, not by container. The NAICS code is 562112 and the small business size standard is $12.5 million. Responses to this notice should include the following: Name and address of company/provider (phone number and email of point of contact), DUNS (Dun and Bradstreet) number; indicate whether or not they are a small business and whether or not the contractor falls into any of the following socioeconomic categories - 8 (a), HUBZone, Women, Veteran Owned, and/or Service-Disabled Veteran Owned; contractor's experience in providing medical waste pickup and disposal and any other pertinent information which demonstrates contractor's ability to meet the above requirement including whether they possess their own trucks, etc. If this project is set-aside for SDVOSB or VOSB, 51 percent of services shall be provided by SDVOSB or VOSB. Also, SDVOSB and VOSB shall be certified (have seal) in www.vetbiz.gov or show pending in order to be eligible. Simply showing interest in www.fbo.gov is not sufficient. All responses demonstrating capabilities (limit 8 pages) shall be submitted in writing no later than the close of business (4 pm CST) August 9, 2011, to the following email address: Melanie.Grigsby@va.gov.
