- This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of potential qualifications of Small Businesses, including 8(a), HubZone and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned firms relative to the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing). The U.S. Military Academy West Point NY is seeking sources to (10) ten new Nanodrop 2000 Spectrophotometers. The Nanodrops will be used to outfit the Biochemistry Laboratory. The Department of Chemistry and Life Science currently has (2) Nanodrop 1000 Spectrophotometers on-hand. The Nanodrop 2000 is the upgraded version of the 1000 which is no longer manufactured. It is important we stay with the same brand for uniformity & common operation and maintenance training to faculty and students. Keeping with this same brand/model will also alleviate any difficulty in interchanging parts with existing inventory. Interested sources are requested to submit an email delineating qualification, capabilities, and experience for providing this product. Please include your business size with your submittal. This is not a Request for Proposal or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation package exists at this time. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submittals will not be returned to the sender. The applicable North American Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 334516 and the small business size standard is 500 Employees. Responses due are to be submitted by e-mail to alea.j.barnes@us.army.mil. The information requested must be received no later than 2:00 pm Eastern Standard Time on 5 August 2011.
