Description
NASA/GRC has a requirement to procure pyrometers. The most significant requirementis the spot size temperature range and accuracy and they must be interchangeable with theexisting lab setup.The requirements are:High temperature measurements are needed in the NASA high pressure burner rig testing.One model shall consist of sensor, panel mounted indicator unit, 12 ft (4 meter)interconnecting cable and manual on CD. Special 60C63 (measuring temperature range200-1800 Deg C); D/20 - Add 38FT, including an extra cable. One model shall consist of sensor, panel mounted indicator unit, 12 ft (4 meter)interconnecting cable and manual on CD. Temperature range (measuring temperature range700-1400C); D/50 - Add 38FT, including an extra cable. The measurement accuracy shall bewithin 5 degree C and meeting D/20 and D/50 spot size 5/16 requirements. NASA/GRC intends to award this sole source requirement to Fluke Electronics Corporationunder the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1). Fluke Electronics is the only known provideron the market that can provide the pyrometers with the features that NASA Glenn requiresand can be interchanged with the existing lab setup. Organizations that believe they are capable of providing the described requirement maysubmit their capabilities and qualifications in writing to the identified point ofcontact not later than 4:30 pm EST on 08/13/2011. Such capabilities/qualifications willbe evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct thisprocurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to competethis proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to thisnotice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
