Additional specifications: Machine Type - 7 Axis Articulated Arm Coordinated Measuring Machine with Pistol Grip. Construction - The CMM shall be constructed of light weight carbon fiber tubes with infinitely rotating joints and absolute rotary encoders that require no homing. It will have a counter balance system to lessen the effective weight of the CMM during use. It will also have a locking mechanism to safely secure it in place when not in use. Measuring Range- The CMM shall have a side to side measuring range of at least 2.5 meters. Accuracy - The CMM will have a Single Point Probing Repeatability of ≤ 0.028 mm. It will have a Volumetric Accuracy of ≤ 0.039 mm. Probe Attachment - Probes shall be attached to the CMM with a kinematic attachment point that allows for the repeatable exchange of probes without recalibration. The CMM shall also be able to accommodate a Touch Trigger probe including all necessary connections. Scanning Devices - The CMM shall have the capability to interface with interchangeable external laser scanning devices. The CMM should also have the provision to interface with other types of measurement data collection devices that may become available in the future. Communication Interface - The CMM shall have the capability to operate on battery power and to communicate with its computer system via wireless connection. It shall also incorporate in its design interchangeable communication modules that will allow the CMM to communicate with a variety of data collection devices. Computer System - The CMM shall come with a Laptop computer system running the Windows 7 operating system. The computer will have the capability to wirelessly communicate with the CMM. The minimum configuration for the computer is as follows. 17 inch wide screen display, Intel 2.5 GHZ CPU, 4 GB Ram, 160GB hard disc drive, separate 512 MB graphic processor. Measurement Software - The CMM shall be equipped with PC-DMIS measurement analysis software and have the ability to interface with QUINDOS measurement software.
