Description
Description This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number L11PS01022 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ) with an open date of July 28, 2011 and close date of August 11, 2011. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 05-25. This is a total small business set aside under NAICS 212321 and a size standard of 500 employees. The BLM New Mexico Rio Puerco Field Office has a requirement in soliciting quotations on a competitive basis from qualified vendors to enter into a firm fixed price contract for Angular 5" - 12" Rip Rap Rock to be furnished in accordance with the below specifications. RIP RAP SPECIFICATIONS: Furnish hard, durable, angular rock that is resistant to weathering and water action and free of organic or other unsuitable material. Angular rock is characterized by sharp, clean edges at the intersections of relatively flat surfaces. Furnish rock with width and thickness of individual rock at least one-third its length (dimension of longest axis). Do not use shale, rock with shale seams, or other fissile or fissured rock that may break into smaller pieces in the process of handling and placing. Conform to the following: (a) Apparent specific gravity, AASHTO T 85 2.40 min.(b) Absorption, AASHTO T 85 4.0% max.(c) Sodium Sulfate Soundness Loss (5 cycles), 12% max. AASHTO T 104(d) Los Angeles abrasion, AASHTO T 96 50% max. The following FAR clauses are applicable under this synopsis/solicitation: 52.212.1; 52.212.2; 52.212-3; 52.212-4; 52.212-5; 52.214-22, and can be downloaded as full text at www.arnet.gov. Contractors shall be registered with the Central Contractor Register (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certification Application (ORCA) in order to be considered for a government contract. Information regarding these requirements and how to register may be obtained from http://www.ccr.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov. Offers who want to do business with the Bureau of Land Management must be registered in FedConnect (www.fedconnect.net) in order to submit electronic proposals.
