Description
National Security Technologies, LLC (NSTec) is currently seeking qualified Subcontractors to refurbish two water storage tanks located at the National Nuclear Security Site (NNSS) located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada. The project includes the refurbishment of two water storage tanks located in remote areas of the NNSS: Area 25 - RCP Elevated Water Storage Tank •· Tank storage capacity is 100,000 gallons. The tank is a 42 feet diameter double ellipsoid supported by four tubular steel legs. The overall height of the tank is 126 feet above grade with a water column top capacity level at 121 feet and lower capacity level at 100 feet. Area 27 - JASPER Water Storage Tank •· The tank is ground mounted with a capacity of 75,000 gallons. Tank diameter is 30 feet and side wall height is 16 feet. The scope of work for each tank site will include: Remove both the interior and exterior surface coatings using methods appropriate to control hazardous waste residue. Lead abatement procedures will be enforced. After the existing coatings are removed, all structural components of the tanks are to be examined for faults or failures due to corrosion and repaired as required. Internal and external coatings will be applied using non-lead based materials and will be inspected and certified by an independent third party NACE Certified Coating Inspector. Each tank will be modified to eliminate safety deficiencies to bring both tanks into compliance with current OSHA and AWWA standards. This scope of work may include, but is not be limited to: Fabricate and install OSHA compliant handrails and toe kicks around the perimeter of the tank roof or balcony platform. Installation a safety gate for access to the tank roof or balcony platform. Fabricate and install new manways, hatches, or pipe nozzles to provide access to the water storage tanks in accordance with OSHA and/or AWWA standards. Fabricate and install where needed new exterior ladders to meet OSHA standards including the installation of safety climb cables. The subcontractor will be required to provide all utilities to successfully fullfill the contract requirements including, but not limited to compressed air, breathing air, ventilation equipment, respirators, electrical generators, lighting, scaffolding, fuel for mobile equipment, drinking water, and control and removal of hazardous construction materials. NSTec will provide fuel for non-mobile equipment, portable toilets, trash/rubbish removal with roll-off bins and disposal of hazardous waste generated during coating removal. The subcontractor is also responsible for the housing, feeding and transport of its employees to and from the remote work sites. All on-site construction work must be performed in accordance with the Construction Project Labor Agreements for the NNSS. A copy of this Labor Agreement can be found on the Internet at: http://www.nstec.com/ppmgt/pdfs/07const.pdf Interested parties are to submit a letter of interest to the point of contact listed below with supporting documentation showing their expertise and background in this type of work.
