- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 3), James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx New York, Network Contract Activity plans to solicit proposals for the purchase of contract services to clean, repair and maintain durable patient care equipment and rolling stock, and is currently seeking firms - Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, Hubzone, 8(A), Minority Women Owned, Women Owned OR Small Business with the ability to provide "CLEANING, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF PATIENT CARE EQUIPMENT AND RELATED ITEMS" for use within the medical center for the Northport VAMC located at 79 Middleville Road, Northport, NY 11768. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY This statement provides the basic criteria required to provide these services to be considered technically and clinically acceptable. This Program will provide healthcare customized services for all types of non-electric patient care equipment and other equipment as assigned. The equipment will be cleaned and all residue will be removed from the surface of the equipment, rinsed, dried lubricated. Minor adjustments, such as tightening of screws, bolts and rails, replacing wheels and rubber tips as necessary will be made at time of cleaning. Equipment requiring replacement of parts or extensive repair will be identified and separated from the group. The equipment will be tagged with a color-coded sticker for record keeping. Equipment will be inspected to ensure that it is functioning properly A detailed listing and report of the equipment serviced is available within 72 hours. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting information, to the contracting specialist no later than Monday July 18, 2011 at 3:00PM. Responses should be faxed to 718-741-4722 or emailed to Lisa.John@va.gov with the title of ""CLEANING, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF PATIENT CARE EQUIPMENT AND RELATED ITEMS" in the subject line. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Bronx NY VA Medical Center contract specialist.
