Description
It is the Government's intent to acquire a new supply contract for linear stages, a rotary stage, a multi-axis controller, and cabling and connectors. The contract will be firm-fixed priced. This is a 100% small business set-aside. The positioning stages, controller, and cabling components will be used to provide more accurate means of measuring standards and customer items within an Anechoic Chamber. The positioning stages, controller, and cabling components required are as follows: 1.Linear Stages a.A single Linear stage with 600mm of travel Travel from any XY point A to any XY B within 5 seconds with a maximum uncertainty of 0.5 millimeter. Positioned at any point in a horizontal plane with a nominal resolution of 1 millimeter. Brackets and hardware shall be supplied to allow the Army to assemble the components in a Y over X configuration. The 600mm stage will be the Y-axis. The mass handling capacity of the stage shall be proper to support the weight and dynamic torque resulting from the acceleration of the mass of the rotary stage plus 3kg. b.A single Linear stage with 1200mm of travel Travel from any XY point A to any XY B within 5 seconds with a maximum uncertainty of 0.5 millimeter. Positioned at any point in a horizontal plane with a nominal resolution of 1 millimeter. Brackets and hardware shall be supplied to allow the Army to assemble the components in a Y over X configuration. The 1200mm stage will be the X-axis. The mass handling capacity of the stage shall be proper to support the weight and dynamic torque resulting from the acceleration of the mass of the 600mm linear stage and the rotary stage plus 3kg. 2.A single Rotary stage 360 degree continuous movement both clockwise and counterclockwise. The maximum uncertainty shall be 1 degree. Speed of the stage shall be able to be programmed in 1 degree/sec, 2 degree/sec, and 3 degree/sec...10 degree/sec increments by means of software command. The mass handling of the stage shall be able to support items weighing up to 1 kg. The aperture size shall be a minimum 50mm to a maximum 100mm. The stage shall have threaded mounting holes to mount various customer fabricated payloads. 3. A single, Multi-Axis Controller to control all the above mention stages. The controller shall be rack mountable in standard 19 inch rack. The controller shall support Microsoft Visual C#.NET programming language. One of the following remote interfaces is required: Ethernet, USB, or IEEE-488. An IEEE-488 interface is desirable. Controller shall operate on 115 and/or 230 VAC 60 Hz. Accessories: Cabling and Connectors The contractor shall supply all the cabling between the multi-axis controller, Army assembled stages, and Army Workstation PC. The cabling and connectors between the controller and stages shall have connectors that are serviceable or replaceable by the Army. a. Cabling between assembled stages and controller shall be a minimum of 25 feet in length with integrated cable management. b. The connection between the controller and the Army Workstation PC shall be a minimum of 10 feet. Documentation Technical documentation and manuals shall be provided by contractor. Assembly not required by contractor. All eligible, responsible sources may submit a proposal which, if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. All requests must be in writing. Requests can be sent to Nicholas Kirby, (256) 842-7404, nicholas.kirby@us.army.mil, or to Ben Guyse, (256) 842-7685, ben.guyse@us.army.mil.
