- Item Description Spreadsheet Attachment 5.5 Shape File of Project Area Streams Attachment 5.4 Project Area Shape File Attachment 5.3 LiDAR Project Area Map Solicitation Package with Technical Specifications This contract is being solicited to acquire LiDAR data (Light Detection And Ranging) and post processing services for the Nez Perce Clearwater National Forests in north central Idaho. LiDAR utilizes lasers and sensors mounted to fixed-wing aircraft along with ground-based GPS survey instruments in order to collect detailed topographic and vegetation data. The collected LiDAR data will support the following activities: watershed restoration, heritage resource management, transportation planning, and vegetation management. The contract includes 10 separate project areas that total approximately 529,505 acres. A vicinity map has been provided. The project areas vary in size from 12,581 acres to 132,309 acres (average size is approximately 52,950 acres) with elevations ranging from 1360 to 8256 ft. Slopes vary between 0° to 80°. All the project areas are located on the Nez Perce and Clearwater National Forests. Contractor will perform post processing to correct for pitch, yaw, and roll of the aircraft, perform geometric correction, and provide accuracy assessment of geometrically correct LiDAR point cloud. Contractor will provide GPS survey control data. Delivered LiDAR data will consist of X-Coordinate, Y-Coordinate in a UTM NAD83 projection and Elevation in a NAVD88 vertical datum. This applies to all laser returns and includes scan angle, intensity values, return level, and GPS time attributes for each return. Target post-spacing will be 90cm with a maximum near nadir scan angle of 30° (maximum of 15% from nadir per side), a 50% flight line overlap, and a pulse repetition frequency of >60 kHz. Contractor shall deliver processed data as well as ESRI ArcGIS Grids. The LiDAR flights shall be completed no later than September 30, 2012; however, one item accounting for an estimated 132,309 acres must be flown by late September 30, 2011 to ensure that the processed data is delivered no later than November 30, 2011. No data collection will be conducted while there is snow on the ground or during inclement weather or atmospheric conditions. Data will be processed and delivered no later than 60 days following data acquisition. The solicitation shall be issued in late July 2011. Shapes files of the project areas as well as the complete solicitation package with specifications and contract terms/conditions will be provided at this time.
