Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT announcement only. There is no solicitation available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. The 42nd Contracting Squadron is conducting market research to determine the existence of potential business sources. Air Force Research Institute (AFRI) requires Arabic (MSA) translation services capable of translating documents, which are both scholarly and technical in nature. Quality and timeliness of effort are the critical factors for this requirement. Effort will be year-round with multiple spikes as each quarterly journal approaches deadline. Nominally 70% of the translations will be from English to Arabic (MSA). Each of the five journals will submit 1-2 articles quarterly for translation. On average, articles run approximately 6,000 words in length in English. Additionally, one to three book reviews may be submitted by up to four journals quarterly. Book reviews generally run about 1,000 words in English. The information in this notice is based on the best and most current information available to date. This information is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. Any updated information will be provided in future announcements and posted electronically on the Federal Business Opportunities homepage at www.fbo.gov, as available. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541930. This industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in translating written material and interpreting speech from one language to another and establishments primarily engaged in providing sign language services. Dependent upon responses to this Sources Sought announcement, it is anticipated that Blanket Purchase Agreement(s) with multiple vendors will be issued for this requirement. Period of Performance for BPA(s) will be for a five year period. Interested and qualified sources are requested to provide a brief statement of current capability and letter of interest. Interested and qualified sources are requested to provide the following information: 1) Company name, point of contact, e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers, type of business and size, Cage Code and DUNS number; 2) a list of your most recent and relevant DoD or commercial contracts (not to exceed three) to include names, points of contact, phone numbers, value and type of contract, period of performance, and brief description; and 3) information telling us about your company and why you think you can perform this service. Respondents are asked to limit submissions to 5 pages (or less), or the minimum number of pages necessary to address the requirements specified in this announcement. Any information provided is voluntary. The sources sought is for INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. This does not constitute a solicitation and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The contractor needs to be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR). (Register via the CCR website http://www.ccr.gov), also be eligible to process invoices through Wide Area Workflow (WAWF)(Register via the WAWF website https://wawf.eb.mil), and be registered in the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA)(Register via the ORCA website at http://www.orca.bpn.gov).
