- Description
- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1, NNG11387066Q TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQFOR EDGE GRIND AND POLISH FOUR CONICAL MANDRELS. Companies shall acknowledge allamendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subjectsynopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to answer questinos and make a correction to a misprinton line two of the description on the original synopsis from '0.25mflatness' to '0.25micrometers'. I am also attaching the solicitation form for easy access. The due date for receipt of offers is extended to July 29, 2011.Questions followed by answers: Question 1: First, in the synopsis section, it is stated that a tolerance of0.25mflatness is required. Is this a misprint, should it be 0.25 m? In addition, thisspecification is not written in the statement of work. Unless it means the same as #3 inthe statement of work, which states 0.3 m. Are these the same specifications, or is the0.25 m something different? If so, can you please clarify the 0.25 m specification? Isit irregularity PV or rms to the best fit form and over what area?Answer: It does mean the same thing as #3. The spec is 0.3 micrometers PV.We do notexpect you to have a CGH or null lens, so we accept measurements of the surface figurealong axial lines (interferometer or profilometer). We did not specify the density oflines of measurement, but we would be happy to accept representative scans every 10degrees over any 60 degree sub-section of the whole 360 shell.Question 2: statement of work, technical questions: Can you please elaborate on thesymbol | |?Does this mean average, such as a Ra value, or is this a peak to valleynumber?Answer: Absolute value, peak-to-valleyQuestion 3: Can you please elaborate on the slope speciation, #4? Specifically, what isthe integration length? Is it the minimum spatial wavelength, 1 mm? Or is it the spatialsampling period of the measurement method (which is implied by the derivative statement)?Answer: Im not sure about the definition of integration length. Refer to thedefinition of the curve in the Statement of Work.Question 4: Are there any specifications on the radial profiles or only the axialprofiles?Answer: We didnt specify radial profiles, if you meet the other specs, you will meetour requirements. We expect the radius variation to be below 5-6 microns PV. Question 5: Is there any ceiling price for this activity (maximum allowable price)?Answer: This requirement is within the simplified acquisition threshold.Question 6: Is there any standard form for the proposal? If yes, could you kindlyprovide us the relevant template or the table of content? Answer: The proposal may be provided on the SF 18 form, which is included as anattachment to this amendment.Question 7: Which is the standard time frame between the synopsis closure (responsedate) and the contract award (beginning of the project)?Answer: The response date depends on the number of responses received from vendors forevaluation and consideration.Question 8: The synopsis has been issued on July 13th and the response date is next July21st. Why so short time for the submission of the proposal?Answer: The Response date is extended; this will be a firm fixed price simplifiedacquisition.
