This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number SPM4A8-11-X-0088 is issued as a request for quote (RFQ) and the solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular. DESCRIPTIVE: Services/Labor for two mechanical technicians and one general machinist. Must have minimum of (5) yrs direct experience in repairing or rebuilding functions on various components, machine sub assemblies and machines. Must have thorough working knowledge of machine tool components: mechanical transmissions, gearboxes, headstocks spindles. Must have experience w/bearing installation, shaft alignments, acme screw alignments and ball screw installation. Machinist must be skilled in lathes, mills, grinders, drill press, saws, hand tools; to include, bluing, scraping of way surfaces for alignment and analytical testing of variety of machine tools. Must have (5) yrs direct experience in the above duties. •A. The mechanical technicians must have experience in bluing and scraping of way surfaces for alignment and analytical testing of a variety of machine tools. The technicians will be responsible for independently rebuilding components or a machine tool. •B. Work schedules shall be Monday thru Thursday 0600 thru 1630 (4 ten hour days). •C. Daily operations shall consist of the following: Rebuilding gear boxes, transmissions, bluing, scraping and fitting components for alignment and tolerance testing. •D. Hand tools will be provided by DLA Aviation •E. The Mechanical Technicians work areas will be kept clean and orderly daily. •F. The Mechanical Technician will report directly to the General Foreman for assigned duties. •G. Services and labor will be required for one general machinist to manufacture or repair parts used in the rebuilding of Industrial Plant Equipment. Daily operations shall consist of the following: Manufacturing and repairing parts for various rebuilding processes. Must be skilled in the use of the following machines: Mills (vertical and horizontal), lathes, grinders, drill presses, saws, and various hand tools. •H. Machinist must provide his/her own hand tools along with any and all safety equipment required for employment at DLA Aviation. •I. The Machinist's work areas will be kept clean and orderly daily. •J. Work schedule shall be Monday thru Thursday 0600 thru 1630 (4 ten hour days). This requirement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside, requiring the product(s) to be domestically manufactured by a small business. The award will be made as a firm fixed price contract. The award shall be based on technically acceptable, lowest offer. The required performance period is 26 July 2011 thru 08 August 2011. FOB at Destination and Inspection/Acceptance at Destination.
