Description
Request for Proposal (RFP) Overview Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) Program Planar Target Support Contract Solicitation Number: DE-SOL-0002953 The Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has an ongoing need for a wide variety of very complex targets for Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) and related High Energy Density Physics (HEDP) experiments. The NNSA program in ICF is an important component of the agency's Stockpile Stewardship Program. Stockpile Stewardship allows the United States Government to maintain a safe and reliable nuclear arsenal without nuclear testing. ICF/HEDP targets are complex, multi-component, systems often employing specialized materials. Planar (flat) targets for the ICF/HEDP Program will be provided through the planned solicitation described here and more fully in the RFP. Please submit proposals in accordance with Section L - Instructions, Conditions and Notices to Offerors (See Provisions NNS-L-1001, NNS-L-1002, NNS-L-1003, 0L004, and 0L005). Offerors are responsible for submitting proposals, and any modifications, or revisions, so as to reach the Government office designated in the solicitation as soon as possible, but not later than 2:00pm Mountain Time, on August 22, 2011. Late proposal submissions shall be handled in accordance with FAR Provision 52.215-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Competitive Acquisition (JAN 2004), paragraph (c)(3). See FedConnect (www.fedconnect.net) for more information about this opportunity including the complete RFP and attachments.
