Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking to award a requirements contract for an automated Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) slide preparation system that deparaffinizes, H&E stains, and cover slips with glass for histology slides. The instrument/equipment and supplies must be provided to Salem VA Medical Center, located at 1970 Roanoke Blvd, Salem, VA 24153. The total yearly anticipated volume is 10,000 slides during base year 1, with a 5% increase in subsequent years. The contractor shall furnish required instrument/equipment, reagents, controls, disposables and any consumable part necessary for slide preparation during the entire contract period (twelve (12) month base period with four (4) 12 month option periods) in strict accordance with all terms, conditions, provisions and specification of this solicitation. One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement and Free Trade Agreements. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 339112. Small business size is 500 employees. This procurement is unrestricted on open to all business sizes. The VA anticipates issuing a solicitation for this requirement via FedBizOps (www.fbo.gov) on or about July 20, 2011, with a closing date for proposals on or about August 3, 2011. All responsible parties may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.
