- Salient Characteristics of Operating Room Surgical Slush Machine The St. Louis VAMC requires a sterile ice slush machine that can be utilized in the sterile field to reduce possible cross-contamination during intra-operative wound/organ packing. The offer must: "Produce slush that is free of sharp ice chips "Automate creation of slush "Has Ice-ring prevention technology "Be operated in the sterile field while maintaining sterility "Eliminate the need for transfer medium(s) "Include any installation and applications training Technical Specifications: "Utilize a standard 120V outlet "Refrigerate at a minimum rate of 750 BTU/Hour "Have a minimum capacity of 7.5 liters Also must include the following option with machine: "Solution warmer to rapidly warm irrigation solution and maintain solutions at a known temperature
