Description

PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE FOR CLC Storage Project at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, MI. The contractor shall provide supervision, labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the construction of four (4) new palliative care private rooms with medical gases, ADA toilets, including, but not limited to interior walls, ceilings, flooring, built-in case work, window treatments, finishes, plumbing, fire sprinkler, HVAC and electrical systems on the First Floor West wing of the Community Living Center (CLC) as per drawings and specifications. Since this work is in the CLC where patients live; infection, dust, and noise control will be strictly monitored to ensure the least amount of disruption to our patients. Some after-hours work may be required as well as minor schedule adjustments depending on CLC activities for the patients. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for the project, CLC Storage Project No. 585-09-113 as required by drawings and specifications. All work is to be completed within 60 days after the issuance of the notice to proceed. This construction project is set-aside for Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSBs). All prospective contractors must be registered on the VetBiz website, www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on Fedbizops. There will be pre-construction conference held for this project and all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-construction conference will be included in the solicitation packages. The solicitation will be issued on/about August 03, 2011 with the bid opening on/about September 07, 2011. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from Fedbizops which may be issued to this solicitation. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to VOSB construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $250,000 - $500,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220; size standard $33.5 Million applies. In accordance with FAR 52.204-7, Required Central Contractor Registration and in accordance with FAR 2.101, VAAR 802.101, VetBiz Registration, prospective firms must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and in the VetBiz databases prior to award.
