- RFI submission due 09 August 2011 Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlantic, Code 6.3.2.0, is seeking information on commercially-available Interactive Virtual Environments (IVE) for use by the Air Force Medical Modeling & Simulation (AFMM&S) program in creating a proof of concept for a Virtual Medical Center (VMC). The VMC would allow each user to have a personalized avatar by which they can navigate the virtual world and communicate with other users. Communications must include at least text and Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VOIP). The virtual world would allow patients to interact with doctors and other patients in multi specialty clinics. Virtual environment training for personnel is required. The architecture delivered should support the dynamic allocation of network resources to accommodate load balancing, provisioning, object management, system monitoring, security, scaling and redundancy. The system should support thousands of concurrent users accessing it while ensuring data and services have high availability in terms of reliability and latency. The virtual clinic delivered with the proof-of-concept should include virtual lecture halls, classrooms, doctors offices, labs, and other environments as needed. Submittals The information received shall be reviewed to conduct objective, comparative assessments and validation of commercial equipment and systems. This RFI is for information gathering and planning purposes only, and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or solicitation of an offer. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. All information received will be treated as public knowledge; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. Specific information sought includes: 1. Company information, including name, address, and URL 2. Whether a purchased product or a service-based product is offered 3. A point of contact for follow-up information, and the point of contacts phone number and e-mail address 4. Product name and a brief description (75 words or less) of product 5.
