Description

The VA Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa intends to award a sole source Purchase Order to Medline, under authority of FAR 6.302-1. The intent is to award a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order for a SmartWand, RFID Surgical Sponge Tracking/Locating System. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. This FBO announcement is being placed to satisfy requirements in FAR 5.201. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Inquires will be accepted in writing by mail or by facsimile (515) 699-5866 if received by July 24, 2011.
