Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with Metal Technology, Inc., 173 Queen Ave, S.E>, Albany, OR 97322 for: This request is for additional vanadium sample cans to be used in Neutron scattering powder diffraction experiments. Part number 014-0542 CAN, VA.250"OD X 2.5"L W/FLNG Helium Leak tested to rates no less than 1 X 10-7 ATM-CC/SEC. Assembly includes one 00.250" diameter sample can electron beam welded to one titanium 6AL-4V FLANGE - 01.375"DIA. Part number 014-0574 CAN, VA.375"OD X 2.562"L W/FLNG Helium leak tested to rates no less than 1 X 10-7 ATM-CC/SEC. Assembly includes one 00.375" diameter sample can electron beam welded to one titanium 6AL-4V Flange - 01.375" DIA. Based on NIST's recent market research, NIST has only identified the one source that can provide the required request Metal Technologies, Inc. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed- price purchase order. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations; however, companies that believe they can fulfill the requirement may provide a written response to this notice and provide clear and unambiguous evidence to substantiate that capability. A determination by the Government whether to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competition.
