- This Sources Sought is being issued for planning purposes only and it is not a solicitation or pre-solicitation notice. Responses to this notice are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. THE AIR FORCE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COSTS INCURRED BY INTERESTED PARTIES IN RESPONDING TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT. No telephone calls will be accepted requesting a bid package or solicitation. There is no bid package or solicitation. In order to protect the procurement integrity of any future procurement, if any, that may arise from this announcement, information regarding the technical point of contact will not be given and no appointments for presentations will be made. The 628th Contracting Squadron at Joint Base Charleston, SC is seeking contractors who are capable of developing and designing a demineralization system to do the following: (a) Process Equipment: Pure (DI) Water System consists of two demineralizer trains for pure water production. Each train consists of a series of demineralizer flasks containing, in order of flow, activated carbon, cation and anion resin, and mixed-bed resin. The cation and anion and mixed-bed demineralizers consist of two racks (each) of demineralizer flasks. Each train is capable of supplying 60K gallons (minimum) of pure water before requiring regeneration. (b) Maintenance/Replacement Services: (1) Carbon Filters: When expended, the carbon filter process media must be replaced. This evolution consists of removal and disposal of the expended media and loading fresh media in the demineralizers. Media and all supplies shall be provided by the contractor. (2) Anion and Cation and Mixed-Bed Demineralizer Bottle Exchange: When expended, the anion, cation, and mixed-bed resin must be replaced with regenerated resin. This maintenance evolution consists of delivering regenerated resin flasks to the existing manifolds, installing the regenerated resin flasks into the existing manifolds, and returning the expended resin flasks to the regeneration site. Resin and all supplies shall be provided by the contractor. Small and large businesses are sought. AT A MINIMUM, THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS REQUIRED: (a) A positive statement of your intention to submit a proposal on this contract. (b) Business Size, DUNS Number, CAGE Code, Tax ID, and Point of Contact All of the above information must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested businesses. Failure to submit all information requested may result in a contractor not being considered as an interested vendor. If adequate interest is not received from vendors, then a sole source notification will be posted on Federal Business Opportunities without further notice. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237110 with a small business size standard of $33.5M. All prospective contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to be eligible for award. AGAIN, THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR PRE-SOLICITATION.
