- Description
- The United Sates Coast Guard (USCG) has a requirement to prepare, inspect, and paint the entire hull above the waterline and superstructure of the NNS THUNDER. The USCG transferred the ex-USCGC CHASE (WHEC-718) to the Government of Nigeria on 13 May 2011, and the Government of Nigeria has since renamed the vessel NNS THUNDER (F90). The place of performance will be at the contractor’s facility. As requested by the Nigerian Navy, the contractor’s facility to include drydocking (if proposed) and commercial pier facilities is geographically restricted and must be located within a 50 nautical mile radius of Alameda, CA. The period of performance to accomplish this requirement is 30 calendar days from date of award. Award of any resultant contract is anticipated no later than 30 August 2011. The contract will consist of Contract Line Item Numbers (CLIN) for hull painting, superstructure painting, mast painting, temporary services, drydock laydays with an optional CLIN for emergent growth work. The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 336611 with a size standard of less than 1,000 employees. This is a 100% small business set aside. The RFP is expected to be released during the week of 18 July 2011 to 22 July 2011 via the Federal Business Opportunity (FedBizOpps) web page at www.fbo.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation and associated documents will not be issued. Please direct all inquiries to the Contracting Officer, Mr. Eric C. McDoniel, via e-mail at Eric.C.McDoniel@uscg.mil. Contractors doing business with the Government are required to register in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database before they can be awarded a contract. A template containing the information for registration can be found at: http://www.ccr.gov. All responsible small business sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the Government.
