Description
Invitation Letter PLEAE REFER TO ATTACHMENT FOR FULL INSTRUCTIONS Hill AFB is in the process of acquiring multiple Vertical Carousels and Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs) to be used to store aircraft parts. Contractors will be required to design, build, transport and install multiple machines at multiple sites. These machines must be commercially available items. We invite you to attend a brief tour of our facilities before submitting your proposed solutions to current and future solicitations. While attendance is not a prerequisite to proposal submission, it is highly encouraged. The primary purpose of the site visits is to allow all interested parties to gain a better understanding of the requirements and site specifications. The secondary purpose of the site visit is to conduct market research regarding the contract arrangement. One single contract for multiple machines and locations, with options for future years and requirements, is being considered. Multiple smaller contracts is also being considered. A site visit may allow you to better design and propose your solutions. In particular, for an anticipated VLM requirement (anticipated FY 2011), there are three obstructions in the ceiling space that contractors must consider when designing and installing the proposed solution. While Hill AFB will do its best to answer any questions, it will be the ultimate responsibility of the contractor to design and build a solution that fits in the available space. No tape measures, ladders, lifts, or blue prints will be provided. It is recommended that you bring a measuring device that will reach 40' into the air, free standing (i.e. laser measuring device or extendable pole). Also recommended is safety glasses, hard hats, and bright colored vests. The site visits are scheduled for Thursday, 28 July, 2011, from 1130 to 1600. Upon receiving notification of your intent to attend and upon receiving the requisite security approval, a specific itinerary will be sent out. The expected itinerary will resemble the following: 1130 - Pre-Briefing/security check in 1200 - 1600 - Site visits, measurements, Q/A Special security requirement must be met by all individuals going on site. The security office must receive the following information no later than Wednesday, 20 July, 1700, in order to approve/reject any applicant. The following information will be required of each person attending: --Full Name --Company you work for and sub contract for, if applicable. No foreign nationals will be allowed at the sites. You must bring picture ID that proves citizenship. You must also provide vehicle registration and proof of insurance in order to drive on the Air Force Base. PLEASE REFER TO ATTACHMENT FOR FULL INSTRUCTIONS
