Description
DESCRIPTION: The US Army Contracting Command Picatinny (ACC-Picatinny),Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager, Maneuver Ammunition Systems (OPM-MAS) is seeking interested sources for the 120mm Advanced Multi Purpose (AMP), a 120mm large caliber multi-purpose munition to be developed for the Abrams Main Battle Tank. AMP will provide the User with new capabilities to defeat Anti Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) teams and breach reinforced walls. The three modes of operation including Airburst, Point Detonate, and Point Detonate Delay will also allow AMP to consolidate the capabilities of four stockpiled cartridges into a single munition that can be used to defeat dismounted infantry, bunkers, obstacles, and light armor. SPECIFICATION: The cartridge shall be manufactured in accordance with a US Army performance specification, which will be included with the Request for Proposal (RFP). A Government Technical Data Package (TDP) will also be available for information or optional use once the RFP has been released. Neither the performance specification nor the TDP will be available for release until the RFP is issued. PLANNED ACQUISITION: The anticipated requirement is for FY13 FY17 which will include a two-phased Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) (EMD Demonstration Phase and EMD Completion Phase), Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and two (2) Full Rate Production Options. LRIP will consist of manufacturing up to 3,000 cartridges. Full Rate Production will consist of manufacturing approximately 5,000 cartridges per year. SUBMISSION INFORMATION: For Further Information - All interested parties should submit a description of their capabilities within 30 days of this notice to: US Army Contracting Command - Picatinny, Mrs. Stephanie Kless, ACC-PICA-MA, Bldg. 45B, Mail Stop Bldg 10B, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 or by email to: stephanie.kless@us.army.mil. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey.
