- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), intends to award a single source contract to Honeywell International, Inc., 21333 N. 19th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85027. The FAA, Aviation System Standards (AVN), Flight Inspection Flight Programs Division, (AJW-393), has a requirement for the conversion of six (6) each HG2100AB06, Inertial Reference Units (IRU) currently on the FAA's Challenger aircraft to six (6) each, HG2195AB04 and purchase two (2) new HG2195AB04 IRUs. All aircraft parts must be certified to the aircraft and only these parts are authorized for use on the aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations Part 21 and 135. The total estimated value is $1,009,987.00 with a delivery date of 150 days after contract award. Honeywell International, Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the system components and is the only source with the proprietary data, drawings and specifications. Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. This announcement is for informational purposes only, not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. A full and open competition is not available for this procurement. If your firm does not agree with the single source determination, please provide evidence of your firm's capabilities and experience in providing the above and the FAA will evaluate this accordingly.
