- The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) has a requirement to procure (2) One-Over-One and (4)Two-Over-Two Marmoset caging units to provide appropriate housing for marmosets in accordance with the Guide for Care and Use of Laboratory Animals. This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2001-27. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 332999. The contractor shall provide Marmoset Caging Units that meet the following requirements: One-Over-One Marmoset Caging Unit - No telemetry capability 1.Exterior of the unit shall be approximately 28.00" wide x 28.00" deep x 82.5" high. 2.Unit shall be constructed of stainless steel wire mesh. Entire unit shall be autoclavable. 3.Two tapered pans made of stainless steel shall be provided with each unit. 4.The squeeze-back should be made of mesh stainless steel. It should be able to pull all the way to the front of the cage (flush) AND the ventral surface should nearly touch the cage floor to form a "sweep". 5.Configuration shall be 1 wide x 2 high 6.The front of the unit must have a full-swing door. 7.Must have 4 stainless steel/polyurethane casters. Two with brakes and two without brakes. 8.Each compartment must: include a stainless steel horizontal cardholder. include a feeder drawer, with perforations in lower surface be equipped with an autoclavable nesting box. be able house a single (or pair of) marmoset(s) securely be supplied with an Edstrom stainless steel automatic water system located on the rear panel with one primate drinking valve per compartment and I water bottle per compartment. be equipped with two nesting box locations be equipped with an autoclavable, NON-stainless steel resting board/perch, preferably a horizontal flat surface on the top. All responsible sources may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the agency. The competitive solicitation, solicitation amendments and all questions and answers relating to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/ or https://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about, July 14, 20011 and will only be available until August 4, 2011. Specifications of the requirement are provided in solicitation: W81XWH-11-T-0461 Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the website. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. To be eligible for an award, offerors MUST be registered with the Central Contractor Registry at https://ccr.gov/ and may have completed its representations and certification found at https://orca.bpn.gov/. All questions should be addressed in writing to Colleen Barnes, Contract Specialist at colleen.barnes@us.army.mil. Questions shall be submitted not later than 1200 hours (Eastern Day Light Savings Time) on July 29, 2011. Only one set of questions shall be received from each offeror. Numerous emails from one offeror shall not be accepted. Telephone requests will not be honored and bidder lists will not be maintained. All interested parties shall provide their quote to Colleen Barnes at colleen.barnes@us.army.mil by 10:00 a.m. ET on August 4, 2011.
