- The U.S. Army Joint Munitions and Lethality Contracting Command, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 is interested in receiving information from industry and the academic community in reference to providing post-production support for the Joint Precision Airdrop System (JPADS) 2K program for The Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Armament Software Center (ASEC). Support tasks would include analyzing software requirements to determine appropriate tasks, managing task schedules and providing technical support to address project specific software engineering requirements for the JPADS 2K system. The ASEC is seeking information from industry in regards to support with the design, development of support of vehicle guidance, navigation and control sensors, systems, including the Joint Precision Airdrop System 2K variant. Experience in the participation in the development and operation of test instrumentation, telemetry, and post flight processing systems for vehicle trajectory reconstruction and Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) evaluation would be required. ASEC is seeking assistance in its efforts to provide certifiable avionics and Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) systems. Generally, this would include (a) engineering and verification support of the Joint Precision Airdrop Systems; (b) maintenance of the JPADS 2K system; and (c) support for implementation Engineering Change Proposals. Extensive experience with the JPADS 2K program would be required, including a capability in the field of precision guidance, navigation and control as well as miniaturized electronics packaging. This unique knowledge could be utilized to maintain reliability and effectiveness of operational systems and capabilities in military and civilian applications. The ability to quickly design, fabricate, and test miniature electronics systems for fieldable applications would be required. Additionally experience in avionics engineering analysis and spacecraft hardware/software systems design and simulation experience would be necessary. This is a Sources Sought/Market Survey Announcement and submissions will be used for informational and planning purposes only. This notice does not constitute a formal Request for Proposal (RFP)/Request for Quote (RFQ), nor is the Government obligated to issue an RFP/RFQ. In addition, the Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. No award will be made because of this request for information. If a formal solicitation is issued at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published.
