- SOURCES SOUGHT: This is a Sources Sought Synopsis, for market research purposes only, and not a Request for Proposal (RFP). A solicitation is not being issued at this time and this notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The 700th Contracting Squadron (700 CONS) located at Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Germany is in the process of determining the acquisition strategy for a one-time upgrade for the current HiPath system located at Ramstein AB (Germany). The upgrade is for the existing Siemens HiPath 4000 V2 switches to the latest Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certified software version (V5). The system will provide a JITC certified system with touch screen capability to support 521 AMOW Air Mobility Command Center (AMCC). The existing auxiliary equipment (hardware tech refresh) such as touch screen systems, memory modules, and UPS systems will also be replaced. The upgrade is to be performed on 14 consoles. 14 HiPath Trading licenses will be required to accomplish this task. A 2-year warranty is also desired. A solicitation number has not been assigned to this action. Offeror must submit signed certification by the manufacturer that his/her enterprise is authorized to maintain, upgrade and repair systems of type HiPath 4000. Solicitation due date might be subject to change. Performance Work Statement and Solicitation will be published on FedBiZops for download. The Government anticipates that a site survey will need to be performed prior to award. If a site survey is needed at no cost to the Government, will this change your quote? The anticipated award will have a performance period of approximately 160 days. The government expects to make an award in Sept 2011. Interested parties are requested to submit a statement of capability. The statement of capability shall include and shall not exceed 10 pages: 1. Contractor Name a. Address b. Cage code Any information provided by industry to the Government as a result of this sources sought synopsis is strictly voluntary. Responses will not be returned. No entitlements to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges to the Government will arise as a result of contractor submission of responses, or the Government's use of such information. The information obtained from industries responses to this notice may be used in the development of an acquisition strategy and future RFP. SUSPENSE FOR RESPONSES IS WEDNESDAY, 13 JULY 2011, BY CLOSE-OF-BUSINESS (COB).
