National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Acquisitions- Neurosciences, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition, on behalf of the National Institute on Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to AB Sciex, LLD (Eksigent Division), 5875 Arnold Road, Suite 300, Dublin, CA 94568 for a NanoLC Ultra 2D System with a corresponding Autosampler (NanoLC Ultra AS-2) with the following specifications: - NanoLC-Ultra 2D System. Dual gradient pump: 1-10 ul/min for gradient 1, 50-500 nl/min for gradient 2. Max pressure 10,000psi. Temperature controlled column compartment w/one 10 port column switching valve. Includes Nano-LC start-up kit (p/n 801-00043) and Eksigent control software. - NanoLC-AS2 autosampler. 10,000psi 6 port injection valve (1/32" connections). Two microtiter plate or 96 sample vials capacity; cooled sample compartment. This system along with a mass spectrometer available in the lab is will be used to identify biomarkers of disease progression and to study disease pathogenesis of AIDS and other retroviral infections of the brain. Eksigent's NanoLC Ultra 2D System with a corresponding autosampler has a dual gradient pump with maximum operating pressure up to 10,000psi. The platform provides high thoroughput, high resolution separation of peptides for high mass-accuracy identification of proteins and the post translational modifications. This along with a compact footprint and compatibility with existing lab equipment make this the only nanoscale HPLC system able to meet the NINDS's requirement. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR 12 procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement.
