Description

This is a pre solicitation notice for a proposed construction contract to Seismically Upgrade and Remodel Bldg 2 at the at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, American Lake Campus, Tacoma WA. The VA is seeking a contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision for the proposed contract. This procurement has two separately designed projects that correlate with one another. The funding and expenditures for each project must be tracked separately. As a result there will be one solicitation resulting in two separate awards to one contractor based upon the aggregate total of the two projects. Project: 663-350 Seismically Upgrade and Renovate Floor 3 of Bldg 2, approx. 23,397 sq ft located at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, American Lake Campus, Tacoma, WA. Construction Cost Range: $2,000,000 to $5,000,000 Project: 663-378 Seismically Upgrade and Renovate Floors 1 & 2 of Bldg 2, approx. 46,791 sq ft. located at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, American Lake Campus, Tacoma, WA Construction Cost Range: 5,000,000 to 10,000,000 The applicable NAICS code is 236220 / 33.5mil size standard. This acquisition will be a 100% set aside for Small Disadvantaged Veteran Owned small Business concern (SDVOSB). All SDVOSB's must be verified by the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilizations Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE) through www.vetbiz.gov to be considered for an award. Work will include, but is not limited to, architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and telecommunications work. Contract completion time will be 365 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. The VA anticipates awarding a firm, fixed price contract. As authorized by FAR 5.102(a)(7), solicitation dissemination is limited to electronic medium, and VA will provide no hard copies. The solicitation, consisting of various bid documents, specifications, forms, and drawings will be available for download at no charge at the FedBizOpps (FBO) website o/a August 8, 2011. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all bid documents and any amendments, and should re-visit FBO website periodically to look for any updates. Further details of all dates and events will be available in the solicitation.
