- Description
- The Federal Integrated Product Team (FIPT) is seeking information from industryon approaches, products and/or standard mobile Satellite Communications(SATCOM) solutions that can support one or multiple SATCOM bands. Those bandsinclude but are not limited to Ku, C, X, Ka, and L. The SATCOM terminal mustprove able to operate in driving environments (On The Move) up to vehiclespeeds of 85 miles per hour (MPH). The SATCOM terminal must possess anyindustry required certifications and ARSTRAT X-Band certification (or in theprocess of certification). The terminal must have an onboard installed modem, network accelerator, spectrum analyzer, auto-tracking, network line driving, manageable, scalable, and possess an IP-65 or IP-67 rating. The SATCOM unitmust allow for not more than a 5-10 minute transceiver swap out in order tochange Network bands. It must provide external interfaces to routingequipment, encryption devices, bandwidth management software, Ethernet cabling, and fiber optic cabling extensions. The SATCOM terminal must yield a bandwidthuplink/downlink throughput that supports simultaneous data processing, voiceoperations, and video teleconferencing. The desired platform should allow forremote log in capabilities and remote destruction capabilities of theInternetwork Operating System (IOS). The terminal should be able to support anextension of the terminal when in operating environments that do not afford theability to acquire Line of Sight (LOS). Hardware and software designs shouldinclude open architecture Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) andGovernment-Off-The-Shelf capabilities. The SATCOM package should be able toaccelerate all services while converging all IP injections into one uniqueubiquitous network. In addition, it should have the ability to rapidlyintegrate mature advanced technology in focus areas identified in Section 2.0and have the required accreditations from the United States Government and theDepartment of Defense (DoD). The SATCOM package should be ruggedized withminimal requirements to support Size, Weight, and Power (SWAP). In addition,it should operate in austere locations that can get as cold as -32 and +120degree temperatures that must be protected but not limited to rain, dust, sand, and moisture. Interested parties are requested to respond to this RFI with a white paperidentifying their capabilities, to include past relevant experience and anyinformation the interested party deems appropriate to demonstrate theircapability and interest in the contents of this RFI - see attachment fordetails and instructions.
