- Description
- The Naval Medical Logistics Command intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1 to Electrical Geodesics, Inc., an Electroencephalography (EEG) System, software, and accessories which are deployable in the field at the Infantry Immersion Trainer at Camp Pendleton, in support of Naval Health Research Center ™s mission objectives. EGI Inc is the only company that makes an EEG system with the capability to rapidly transmit 128 electrodes in 5-10 minutes and which can be deployed in the field immediately and effectively at Infantry Immersion Trainer. Additionally, it is the only company which provides the comparability of EEG systems and functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) systems. In addition, the inability to implement the 128 electrodes rapidly would slow the process of data collection while in the field at Infantry Immersion Trainer, which could jeopardize research team ™s ability to collect data effectively as well as the opportunity to bridge the gap between field training performance and performance captured by neuroimaging techniques (i.e. fMRI). There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334510. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability. All capability statements received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Capability statements shall be submitted by email ONLY as a MS Word or Adobe PDF attachment to wayne.medina@med.navy.mil by the notice closing date. No phone calls will be accepted.
